I do understand that seeing something in person, especially that you have a passion for, creates a feeling of satisfaction. It’s like visiting Disney world for the first time, for instance, for a child that is fond of Harry Potter or Mickey Mouse. They would be in awe. In the same way, artists and those who are very fond of the Mona Lisa would also feel similarly. They could be putting the pieces together by keenly observing it in person and just experiencing the masterpiece with their own eyes. I understand that, and the reason why I believe its not the hype, personally, is because I am not an artist or a person who has an interest in art. But, it definitely would be worthwhile for those who take an interest in famous artwork.
